Where the data lives
Edicta's application and its database are hosted in Canada, on Canadian infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sub-processors and their locations are listed in the security documentation available under NDA.
Who can sign in
Edicta does not issue its own passwords. Your staff sign in with their existing firm credentials through Microsoft Entra ID, the identity service behind Microsoft 365. That means your firm's multi-factor authentication, conditional access and deprovisioning policies apply to Edicta automatically: when someone leaves the firm and their Microsoft account is disabled, their ability to sign in to Edicta ends with it. Each firm's access is set up by Edicta before its users can sign in.
Where documents stay
Sensitive documents are stored on your firm's SharePoint, not ours. Edicta references them; your SharePoint controls them. Permissions, retention and sharing remain under your governance.
Privilege, respected by design
Edicta processes only non-privileged documents: the charge, the parcel register, payment histories, mortgage statements and the like. Solicitor-client correspondence, including the instruction letter from your client, stays in your firm's own systems; counsel records on the file only the facts needed to run it, such as the authorization to proceed.
Who sees what
Counsel, lender, property manager and broker each work from a permission-scoped view of the same matter record. Every action on every matter is logged with who did it, when, on which document and with which authority, and that audit trail can be produced on request.
The website and the application
This public website collects only what is described in our privacy notice: demo requests you choose to send, basic analytics, and the ordinary request logs every web server keeps. The Edicta application, and the data your firm keeps in it, are governed by the customer agreement.
Security documentation
Full security posture documentation is available under NDA on request. Write to info@edicta.ca.
